Functions of Schema Theory in the Teaching of English Reading

Abstract

According to Schema Theory ,people's cognition is realized through Schema's exertion on the unknown things in memory. In the teaching of reading,Schema can be divided into three forms:Schema of content, form and language. Difficulties arise for lack of these theories. Teachers should apply these theories to the teaching of reading in order to improve students'reading comprehension.
