Abstract
Objective:To observe the short-term effect of resynchronization therapy in patients with chronic heart failure.Methods:Thirty-one patients with chronic heart failure and left branch block received resynchronization therapy, left ventricle leads were implanted into one of the cardiac veins. Results:The heart function of 31 patients was significantly improved after the treatment. The QRS width was reduced from(118±21)ms to(160±32)ms,P﹤0.05.Left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD) was decreased from(74.5±14.1)mm to(66.2±9.5)mm,P﹤0.01.Left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESD) was decreased from(65.2±10.2)mm to(57.3±9.2)mm,P﹤0.01.Left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) was increased from(0.24±0.09)to(0.36±0.11),P﹤0.01.Conclusion:The biventricular resynchronization therapy is an effective treatment for chronic heart failure.
