Abstract

To evaluate the clinical effects of biventricular pacing in treating congestive heart failure,11 patients with congestive heart failure and intraventricular conduction delay( 9 male,2 female, 54±7 years old) were implanted tri-chamber biventricular pacemaker and the left ventricular lead were inserted into the lateral or postero-lateral branch of cardiac vein via coronary sinus. Results:All operations were success. The symptoms were improved in all patients after biventricular pacing.During follow-up in 6-18 months, the improvement of left ventricular function and reduction of mitral regurgitation were found in echocardiogram. Conclusion: Biventricular pacing can improve the clinical symptoms, left ventricular function and the quality of life.
