Abstract
Objective To observae the effect of grape seed procyanidins extract (GSPE) on the content of MDA, the activityh of SOD and GSH-Px in senile mice. Methods According to the levles of blood MDA, 40 Kunming senile mice were divided into control group, the groups of low, middle and high dose of GSPE. The content of blood MDA, activity of serum SOD and GSH-PX were determined 30 days after the mice were orally given GSPE. Results Compared with the senile control group, the content of MDA in the blood of high dosage group could obviously be reduced and the activity of serum SOD could be markedly enhanced (P0.05). The effect of GSPE on the serum GSH-Px activity (P0.05). Conclusion GSPE can reduce the content of MDA and enhance the activity of serum SOD in mice.
