Abstract
Background:Detection of serum total bile acid(TBA),typeⅢprecollagen(PCⅢ),typeⅣcollagen(C-Ⅳ),laminin (LN)and hyaluronic acid(HA)can be used for judging the grading of liver fibrosis. However, studies on the relationship between liver fibrotic markers with Child-Pugh staging are still controversial either at home or abroad.Aims:To investigate the relationship between TBA,PCⅢ,C-Ⅳ,LN,HA and Child-Pugh staging.Methods:Forty-two cirrhotic patients were divided into stage A,B and C according to Child-Pugh staging.Serum TBA level was detected by enzymic method.Levels of serum PCⅢ,C-Ⅳ,LN and HA were detected by radioimmunoassay. Results:Level of serum TBA increased as Child-Pugh staging increased, and significant differences were observed in patients with different stages(P0.01).Level of serum PCⅢin patients with stage C was significantly higher than that in patients with stage A(P0.05). No significant difference was found in serum C-Ⅳlevel in patients with different stages.Serum LN level in patients with stage C was significantly higher than that in patients with stage A and B(P0.01 and P0.05,respectively).Serum HA level in patients with stage B and C were markedly higher than that in patients with stage A(P0.01).Conclusions:TBA level is a sensitive marker for liver damage, and is a reference marker for Child-Pugh staging.Combined detection of serum PCⅢ,LN and HA levels are useful for Child-Pugh staging.
