Abstract
Objective: This study is to evaluate the serum high-sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP) which is used to predict the clinical severity in patients with coronary heart disease. Methods: Serum hs-CRP was measured in patients. Combined with coronary angiography, the clinical severity was assessed. Results: The serum level of hs-CRP in OMI?UAP and AMI were all significantly higher than that in control, also the serum level of hs-CRP in UAP and AMI were all significantly higher than that in OMI, but there was no significant difference between UAP and AMI. Serum hs-CRP was in direct proportion to the number of injured coronary artery in patients with ACS (r s = 0.609, P 0.01). Conclusion: The present study indicates that serum hs-CRP may be a risk factor of coronary artery disease, it can reflect the clinical severity, and may mark unstable atherosclerotic plaque in patients with coronary heart disease.
