Analysis of the Thought in Education of Gong Tingxian

Gong Tingxian was a practitioner and educationist in the Ming dynasty of China. In the paper his thought in education was analyzed in terms of his objective of education, personnel training mode, teaching methods, medical ethics education, and patient education. His objective of education is to train high-moral practitioners, who advocate benefit to all. His personnel training mode is to carry on all-round education, putting prevention first, and training personnel with high-morality and skill. His teaching methods include universal education , learning from anybody, academic exchange, inheritance and creation. His patient education refers to science popularity and improvement of understanding.
