Abstract

Objective To study the vitro MTT assay for determining the drug sensitivity in human tumors. Methods 18 samples of leukemias,15 brain tumors,8 gastric cancers, and 8 breast cancers were cultured in vitro for determinating inhibitory rate of chemotherapy drugs to cancer cells by MTT. Results There was significant difference in drug sensitivity to different cancer cells in vitro. The average inhibition against cancer cells conformed to their clinical effects. Conclusion The MTT assay is sensitive, specific, rapid, simple and with high probability of sucess, which is important for clinical use and individual medication.
