Expression of Survivin and VEGF and its significance in lung cancer

Abstract
[Objective] To evaluate the expression of Survivin and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). and its relation with patients prognosis in lung cancer. [Methods] Immunohistochemical technique was used to measure the expression level of Survivin and VEGF about 35 chemotherapy and 35 non-chemotherapy lung cancer cases. Compared the relationship between the expression of Survivin , VEGF and the survival rate. [Results] The positive expression rate of Survivin and VEGF was 74. 3% and 70. 0% .respectively. Survivin and VEGF expression had positive correlation (r=0. 562,P0. 01). And the survival time of lung cancer patients with Survivin and VEGF expression negative was longer than that with postive expression. [Conclusion] Survivin and VEGF expression had positive correlation in lung cancer,combined detection of Survivin and VEGF expression might be an important marker in the chemotherapy effect and prognosis.
