About Deng Xiao-ping's Strategic View on Education

Abstract

Deng Xiao-pings theory of education, which constitutes an important part of Deng Xiao-pings whole theory, brings to light the essence and laws governing Chinas socialist educational undertakings, and makes a penetrating exposition of a series of important theoretical and pratical problems in our educational reform and development. Furthermore, Deng Xiao-pings great foresight and strategic view on education make up some basic points and key contents in his theory of education. Therefore, Deng Xiao-pings theory of education is the continuance and development of both Marxist-Leninist theory of education and Mao Tse-dongs educational thoughts in the new historical period. It will provide theoretical foundation and ideological basis for our Partys strategy of “Enriching the Country with Science and Education”.
