Curative Effects of Integrated Yiqi Bushen Huoxue Therapy and Western Medicine on Early Diabetic Nephropathy

Objective:To observe the efficacy of integrated Yiqi Bushen Huoxue Therapy of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine(WM) in treating patients with early diabetic nephropathy(EDN).Methods:108 cases with EDN were randomized into control group (n=52) which was treated with WM alone and treatment group (n=56)which was added with Yiqi Bushen Huoxue Therapy. The clinical effective rates,symptoms amelioration rates,and the changes of urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER),urinary β_2-microglobulin ( Uβ_2-MG),serum creatinine(Scr),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG) and hemodynamic parameters were compared between two groups.Results:The overall effective rate (91.07%) of treatment group was significantly higher than that(59.61%) of control group(P0.01).After eight weeks of follow-up,symptoms in treatment group were ameliorated in more than 90% of patients,which were significantly higher than that in control group respectively(P0.05,orP0.01).UAER in both groups significantly decreased (P0.05,or P0.01), but the decrement in treatment group was significantly superior than that in control group (P0.05). The levels of Uβ_2-MG,TC,TG,and the indices of hemodynamics significantly decreased (P0.05,orP0.01) in treatment group, while no significant change was found in control group(P0.05).Conclusion:The therapy of integrated Yiqi Bushen Huoxue and WM is effective for patients with EDN.It decreases UAER and Uβ_2-MG,and improves hyperlipidemia and hemodynamic parameters.
