Edna's Awakening and Death in The Awakening

The Awakening is the masterpiece of American female writer Kate Chopin. It tells a tragic story about the disagreement of society with the heroine Edna's awakening,which leads to her suicide. In order to analyze the tragic fate of Edna's awakening and death,the self- awareness of the female is adopted to describe the cruel suppression of patriarchal society to the mind and body of women. However,to Edna who is self- awareness and freedom- pursuit,she can not bear the cruel suppression,which leads to her final death.
