The effects of mifepristone with methytestosterone in the treatment of uterine myoma in primenopausal women

Objective To determine the clinical effects to mifepristone With methytestosterone administration in perimenopausal women with uterine myome.Methods 57 cases of perimenopausal patients with uterine myoma and abnormal bleeding .The patients were divided into two groups. Group Ⅰ 31 cases was given mifepristone 12.5mg/d with methytestosterone 5mg/d for 3 months. Group Ⅱ 26 cases with methytestosterone only ,dosage was 7.5mg/d,for 3 month.Results In the Group Ⅰ amenorrlea occurred in all cases during the period of treatment,100%,15 cases of them into menopause direct. After treatment the volume of myoma dereased significantly 48.2%(P0.01). In Group Ⅱ amenorrhea occurredin 6 cases,5 patients of them into menopause, and the other 16 cases the abnormal bleeding was cased, and the volumce of myomas in group Ⅱ dereased also, 12.5%(P0.05).Conclusion Mifepristone with methytestosterone administration is effective and safe in treating perimenopausal women with uterine myomas.
