Hoop around therapy combined penicillin in treating erysipelas in lower limbs

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of hoop around therapy combined penicillin in treating erysipelas in lower limbs.Methods Seventy-six cases were randomized into treatment group and control group,thirty-eight cases in each group.The cases in control group were treated with penicillin by intravenous drip and package with 25% magnesium sulfate;the cases in treatment group were treated with hoop around therapy and penicillin,with the course of 14 days.The clinical efficacy and symptoms were observed.Results The total effective rates in treatment group and control group were 97.36% and 57.89% respectively.There was significant difference in clinical efficacy between the two groups(P0.05).The difference in swollen limbs,complexion,temperature,pain and score of influenced walking were significant before and after treatment between the two groups(P0.05);after treatment,the difference of indexes between the two groups were significant(P0.05).The mean duration of therapy was 11.6±1.8 and 12.1±1.2 in treatment group(11 cases) and control group(3 cases) respectively,with significant difference between the two groups.Conclusion Hoop around therapy combined with penicillin can improvement the clinical efficacy of erysipelas in lower limbs.
