Abstract
A novel method is established for the separation and determination of benzoic acid (BA)in vinegar by solid phase extraction (SPE) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).BA in vinegar was processed by SPE with Strata-x33μm Polymeric Sorbent cartridge and separated on a Kromasil C18(5μm,250×4.6mm).The mobile phase was methanol/(0.02mol/mL)ammonium acetate(10:90),the flow-rate was 1.0mL/min and 230nm the detective wavelength. The average reveries ranged from 93.5%~103.4%,and the R.S.D.of intra-day and inter-day assay were within 1.2%~2.0%,the detection limits were 6.9μg/L.It is a simple and rapid method with good reproducibility.
