Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of glucose transporter1(GLUT1),multidrug resistance related protein(MRP) and glutathione S-transferase pi(GST-π)in lung cancer. Methods The expression of GLUT1,MRP and GST-π were tested by immunohistochemical method in 42 cases of lung cancer specimens including 28 males and 14 females, with an average age of 54.7.Among them 2 cases were small cell cancer,21 cases squamous cancer,16 cases adenocarcinoma, and 3 cases bronchiolo-alveolar carcinoma. Results In 42 cases of lung cancer specimens,36 cases showed positive staining of GLUT1 protein(85.7%);24 cases showed positive staining of MRP protein(57.1%);23 cases showed positive in GST-π protein(54.8%).There was a significant positive correlation between the expression of GLUT1 and GST-π(P0.05),but there was no significant correlation between GLUT1 and MRP(P0.05).As compared with the expression of GLUT1,MRP and GST-πin lung cancer tissues of T1 and T2 group, there was significantly increased the T3 and T4 group(P0.05,P0.025,P0.01 respectively). The expression of GLUT1,MRP and GST-πwith lymphatic metastasis in lung cancerwas significantly higher than those without lymphatic metastasis(P0.05,P0.05,P0.025 respectively). Conclusion High expression of GLUT1 at lung cancer tissue could be seen in human lung cancer, and there was significant positivecorrelation between the expression of GLUT1 and GST-π.GLUT1 might up-regulate the expression of GST-π.High level expression of GLUT1,MRP and GST-π is related with the invasion degree and lymphatic metastasis of lung carcinoma.
