Abstract
The citizen literature of the Song Dynasty, which focused on the description and reflection of the Dongjing city culture, formed a unique view on imperial capital: a sight of the daily life of the citizens in the capital-prosperity,entertainment and desirable citizens' mass dream. But the story-telling script reflected in the capital city crimes and rebels,a subversion regarding the mainstream imperial capital image, which presented the multi-levelness and richness of the Dongjing metropolis culture in the Northern Song Dynasty. Thus the new citizen culture began to change the old tradition of the Chinese literature and to affect the Chinese literature later historical development, which shows its huge potential vitality.
