Abstract
Objective To study the prevalence and associated factor of fatty liver in type 2 (diabetic) patients. Methods Biochemical test, leptin, C-peptide and liver ultrasound examination were carried in 400 patients. Results The prevalence of fatty liver in type 2 diabetic patients was 46%. The associated factors included leptin, 1-hour C-peptide and TG(r=0.225, 0.046, 0.234, P0.01). Conclusion Reducing body weight, regulating hyperlipidemia, controlling blood pressure and improving IR can reduce the prevalence of fatty liver. Liver ultrasound is an easy and capable (examination) method for detecting fatty liver.
