Abstract

The newly-published book A Study on Generative Grammar by Wu Gang reflects the new achievements in the field of generative grammar study.From the perspective of both philosophical basis and theoretical construction,this book provides a comprehensive and systematic account of generative grammar study in terms of its theoretical essence,academic pursuit,historic development,mainstream theories and recent development.This paper offers a brief review of this book.
