Abstract

Stem segments with buds from Azadirachta indica A. Juss were used as explants in tissue culture for rapid propagation. A satisfactory procedure was established, with which a 100% of callus induction and a multiplication rate of 5~7 times were achieved in 30 (days′) culture. The optimum media were MS + BA 1.0 mg/L + NAA 0.01 mg/L + 3% sucrose for callus induction, MS + BA 0.5 mg/L + NAA 0.1 mg/L + 3% sucrose for subculture, and 1/2 MS + NAA 0.01 mg/L + 1.5% sucrose for rooting induction.
