Microsurgery treatment strategy for newborn congenital neural tube deforman

Abstract

Objective To discuss the therapeutic effect of different kinds of microsurgery treatment for newborn congenital neural tube deforman(NCNTD) by analyzing the clinical data of 47 cases.Methods Nervous system physical examination and MRI were conducted.The microsurgical treatment of congenital neural tube deforman was performed for all cases and the therapeutic effectiveness after operation was graded according to the physical improvement of the patients:excellent,effective,ineffective and worse.The degree of untethering was graded according to Kirollos grading system.Results The degree of untethering at microsurgery based on Kirollos grading system is assessed:Grade Ⅰ in 45 cases(95.7%),GradeⅡin 2 cases(4.2%).Short term curative effectiveness was recorded.Among them 18 cases(38.2%) were excellent,26 cases(55.3%) were improved,2 cases(4.2%) had no change and 1 case(2.1%)got worse.Conclusions Various kind of microsurgical may be effective for NCNTD treatment.
