Abstract
Calcium alginate microspheres with mean diameter 820 nm and calcium alginate/chitosan microcapsules were prepared by emulsion-curing.Using heparin as a model drug, the effects of the swelling condition, the different concentrations of heparin, the drug-loading condition, chitosan molecular weight, the membrane forming time, the different concentrations of chitosan and different modified chitosans on drug-loading were investigated. Results indicated that the maximum drug-loading was 77.4%.
