Abstract

Camptothecin(CPT) is a monoterpenoid indole alkaloid of Camptotheca acuminata, an anticancer plant native in China. Authors used the explants of tender leaf,younger stem and leafstalk to induce callus on different basic culture medium, and determined the content of camptothecin in callus by Thin Layer Chromatogramsofgenus method and High Performance Liquid Chromatography method.The results showed that the content of Camptothecin(CPT) in the callus induced with tender leaf in July for explant and the SH medium for basic medium was more than 0.04 ‰.
