Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation between expresion of endothelin (ET) in plasma of patients with psoriasis, and clinical severity of the disease. Methods Radioimmunoassay(RIA) was used to determine the plasma levels of ET in 16 patients with psoriasis vulgaris,6 patients with erythrodermic psoriasis,3 patients with psoriasis pustulosa,3 patients with psoriasis arthropathica and 15 healthy contrast. Results The results showed that the plasma levels of ET in patients with psoriasis was significantly increased as compared with that of the controls(P0.01),there were no marked statistical difference between vulgaris and other types(P0.05).And there were no relations of the plasma levels of ET in psoriasis vulgaris to the severity and length of this disease(P0.05).Conclusion ET may be involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris.
