Efficacy observation on hemoperfusion combined with hemodialysis for treating skin itch in uremia

Abstract

Objective:To observe the effect of combined hemoperfusion and hemodialysis in the treatment of intractable pruritus.Methods:18 patients with refractory uremic pruritus were selected and given combined hemoperfusion and hemodialysis therapy,once every two weeks.The itching symptom and itching scores were observed and compared before and after treatment.Results:After 1-month treatment of combined hemoperfusion and hemodialysis,pruritus in 18 cases was improved to varying degrees.Among them,12 cases(66.7%)were excellent,5 cases(27.8%) were effective,1 case(5.6%) was ineffective.Parathyroid hormone(PTH) level after treatment was significantly decreased.Conclusion:Combined hemoperfusion and hemodialysis has a good effect to treat refractory uremic pruritus.
