Abstract
Objective To explore the expression and the correlation between the expression of serum inflammatory cytokines IL-17,IL-23 in the different extent of acute pancreatitis. Methods Seventy-two SD rats were randomly allocated into severe acute pancreatitis group(SAP group),mild acute pancreatitis group(MAP group),SAP+dexamethasone and sham operation group(SO group). The pathological changes of the pancreas were observed and studied under light microscopy at postoperative 3 h,6 h and 12 h for four groups. At the same time, the expression of inflammatory cytokines IL-17,IL-23 in serum were determined with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Compared with the SO group, the pathological changes of acute pancreatitis appeared in SAP group,SAP+dexamethasone group and MAP group;compare with MAP group and SAP+dexamethasone group, the serum levels of IL-17 and IL-23 increased significantly in SAP group(P 0.05);the results of correlative analyses indicated that the serum level of IL-17,IL-23 and the severity of acute pancreatitis had significant difference. Conclusion The expression of serum IL-17,IL-23 can accurately forecast the severity of acute pancreatitis. It indeed has some value in early diagnosis of severe acute pancreatitis in clinics.
