Abstract
[Objective]To study the correlation between interleukin(IL)-17 and pancreatitis(AP)with different severity, and the influence of dexamethasone on serum IL-17 expressions by investigating IL-17 expressions in AP.[Methods]Fifty-four SD rat were randomly allocated into severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)group, mild acute pancreatitis(MAP)group and sham operation(SO)group. The rats were sacrificed in batchs 3h,6h and 12h after successful model set-up.The pancreatic tissue, hydrothorax and ascites were observed.Pancreatic tissue was evaluated pathologically. The expression of IL-17 in the serum and pancreatic tissue were checked through enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Another 36 SD rats were randomly allocated into two groups after successful SAP model set-up:one group treated with dexamethasone and the other with saline as the control. Then all the rats were killed 3h,6h and 12h respectively and IL-17 expression in the serum and pancreatic tissue were checked through ELISA.[Results]①Compared with the SO group, both the MAP and SAP groups had higher IL-17 expressions in the serum and pancreatic tissue(P0.01).Compared with the MAP group,SAP group had higher IL-17 expression in the serum and pancreatic tissue(P0.01).②Compared with the control group, the group treated with dexamethasone had lower IL-17 expressions in both serum and pancreatic tissue(P0.01).[Conclusion]①The expression of IL-17 was closely related to the severity of AP.②Dexamethasone could decrease the expression of IL-17,thus leading to inhibiting the progression of AP.
