Abstract

The study was designed to test the effect of Cysteamine on antioxidant system i broilers. One hundred and sixty broiler chickens (7-day-old) were assigned randomly to four groups in which diets were supplemented with Cyteamine at either 0,60,90 or 120 mg · kg-1(as fed basis). At forty-two days old, plasma was bled from chicken's wings. The activities of GSH-Px, SOD and TAOC and the concentration of GSH, MDA were analyzed. The results showed: The concentration of GSH of broilers fed with Cysteamine was lower most significantly than that of broilers fed with control diets (P0. 01). The activities of GSH-Px and SOD in chickens fed with cysteamine were higher than that in control group (P0. 05), but activity of TAOC was lower than that in control group (P0. 05), The concentration of MDA was not different significantly. The results suggested that cystcamine decreased the antioxidant ability of broilers, and 60 mg/kg level of cysteamine was the most oxidative.
