Abstract

ObjectiveTo observe the therapeutic effect of phacoemulsificafion with intraocular lens(IOL) implantation for cataract with hish myopia.MethodsSixty patients(98 eyes) with cataract associated with high myopia received phacoemulsification and IOL implantation.They were divided into 3 groups according to ocular axial length,patients in group I with ocular axial length at 27.00~29.59 mm in 35 eyes,patients in group II with ocular axial length at 29.60~32.19 mm in 30 eyes,and patients in group III with ocular axial length at 32.20~34.70 mm in 33 eyes.The visual acuity of patients was examined on preoperative day and three months after operation.ResultsPostoperative visualacuity:BCVA≤0.1 in 7 eyes(7.14%),0.2~0.4 in 19 eyes(19.39%),≥0.5 in 72 eyes(73.47%),Among BCVA≥0.5 patient,34 eyes(97.14%) in I group,23 eyes(76.67%) in Ⅱ group,15 eyes(45.45%) in Ⅲ group.ConclusionPhacoemulsification with and intraocular lens implantation significantly improves visual acuity in patients with cataract and high myopia.
