Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of valsartan combined with carvedilol on ventricular remodeling and function in patients with chronic congestive heart failure.METHODS:66 patients with chronic congestive heart failure were randomly divided into observation group and control group. Both group received conventional therapy,i.e.cardiac glycoside and diuretics. The observation group was additionally given valsartan and carvedilol for 6 months.heart rate, systolic pressure,six-minute walking test as well as left ventricular end diastolic dimension(LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic dimension(LVESD)and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)were evaluated before and after treatment.RESULTS:After the 6 months of treatment, the heart rate,six-minute walk-test and LVFF were improved significantly in the control group, there was statistical significance(P0.05).The heart rate, systolic pressure,LVEDD and LVESD in the observation group were decreased significantly 6-min walking test and LVFF were improved significantly(P0.05).There was significant difference between 2 groups(all P0.05).CONCLUSION:Valsartan combined with carvedilol can obviously improve the heart function and reverse ventricular remodeling in patients with congestive heart failure.
