The results showed that the rural residential areas in Quzhou County were scatted and extensively used. The calculated potentiality in this paper was more reliable due to the included willingness of farmers, collective organizations, and local government. The most possible areas for consolidation were located around the location of governments of county and township level. The paper concluded that it provided a new idea in measuring the consolidation potentiality of rural residential area, which also had directive meaning for deciding the spatial and temporal sequences of the consolidation.
