Abstract

Objective To study the effect of ulinastatin during ischemia-reperfusion injury of rat pancreas and assess the possible mechanism. Methods Seventy two SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, ischemia-reperfusion group and ulinastatin group. Expression of bcl-2、HSP70 in pancreas cells and pancreas histopathology were observed after 30 minutes of pancreas ischemia and reperfusion for 0 h, 6 h, 12 h and 24 h respectively. Results The expression level of bcl-2 in ulinastatin group was obviously higher than that of sham operation group and ischemia-reperfusion group at 6 h,12 h and 24 h of reperfusion(P0.05). The expression level of HSP70 in ischemia-reperfusion group and ulinastatin group was higher than that in sham operation group at 12 h and 24 h of reperfusion(P0.05); Histopathologic observation indicated that the inflammation was alleviated in ulinastatin group. Conclusion Ulinastatin has protective effects on rat pancreas ischemia-reperfusion injury. The protective effect of ulinastatin may be associated with the up-regulation of bcl-2 expression.
