Abstract
Objective:To investigate the preventive effect of Tengcha flavonoids's (TCF) on hepatic fibrosis of rats.Method:66 male SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups which include healthy control group (10 rats),the hepatic fibrosis model group (14 rats) and three treatment groups of TCF (low doses group, medium doses group, high doses group,14 rats in each group). For healthy control group, the rats were fed by normal food. For model group, the experimental models of hepatic fibrosis were induced by hypoder- mical injection of carbon tetrachloride (CCL4).For the treatment groups:the rats were administrated with the same way of model group, at the same time, taking TCF as follow:low doses group (25mg/100g body weight),medium doses group (50mg/100g body weight),high doses group (100mg/100g body weight).Twelve weeks later, the level of serum Alanine aminotransferase (ALT),Aspartate aminotrans- ferase (AST),Hyaluronic Acid (HA),Laminin (LN),Procolagen TypeⅢ(PCⅢ) and Collagen TypeⅣ(CⅣ) were assayed, and hepatic tissue activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD),and hepatic tissue contents of malondialdehyde (MDA) were measured in all groups.Re- sults:Compared with model group, the level of serum ALT,AST,HA,LN,PCⅢand CⅣin TCF group were significantly decreased (P0.05),MDA also decreased obviously, while the SOD activity of TCF group rose clearly. Conclusion:TCF has good preventive and therapeutic effects on the hepatic fibrosis induced by CCL4,and its mechanism is possibly associated with anti-oxidation and an- tilipid-peroxidation.
