Abstract

Objective To estimate the efficacy of frozen platelet transfusion.Methods 65 patients were randomly transfused frozen platelets(30 cases) and fresh platelets(35 cases).PT,APTT and platelet count were made before and after transfusion.The haemostatic effectiveness and the adverse reactions were noted.Results (1)The differences of PT,APTT and platelet count before and after transfusion in two groups were significant(P0.001) and the differences of the PT,APTT and platelet count between two groups were not significant(P0.05).(2)The clinical haemostatic effective rate was 86.67% in the group with frozen platelet transfusion and 85.7% in the group with fresh platelet transfusion.(3)The adverse reactions in two groups showed no difference.Conclusion The effect of frozen platelet transfusion is closed to that of fresh platelet transfusion.The frozen platelet has a haemostatic function,and can be used in emergencies when platelet transfusion is urgently needed.
