On the Theoretical Construction of the Etymology Teaching Method in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language

With a global continuous rapid rise in interests to learn the Chinese language,teachers and researchers of teaching Chinese as a foreign language have gradually recognized that teaching of Chinese characters is one of the important teaching contents,which needs to be placed great importance in the process of teaching Chinese language.In recent years,they have achieved lots of achievements in teaching Chinese characters,either in the innovation of teaching methods,or in the teaching practice.Based on the knowledge of cognitive theory,philological theory,linguistics,and education psychology concerned with the teaching of Chinese characters,this paper has discussed about the theoretical construction of the etymology teaching method in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The feasibility of this method has also been discussed in details.The aim of the paper is to enrich the methodology system of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
