Abstract

MIKE21 SW wave spectrum model was applied to simulate and calculate the wave field in the sea area at the Yangtze River Estuary during FUNG-WONG Typhoon, taking into account the water level and flow velocity. The simulated results were in good agreement with the measured data and can reflect the wave distribution in the sea area at the Yangtze River Estuary. The results show that the effect of water level on wave height is relatively clear, and the wave height was above 1 m on both sides of the deep-water channel and around the dam area in high weter level conditions, which provides the impetus for re-suspension of the sediments.
