Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between p53 protein and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and the clinical significance in primary lung cancer. Methods S-P immunohistochemistry method was used in 101 cases of primary lung cancer tissue. Results Abnomalities in p53 expression were found, the positive ratios was 59.4%(60/101).p53 overexpression were associated with tumor grading and survival time( P 0.05).A significantly higher PCNA expression score was found in the p53-positive samples( P 0.05).Conclusion This finding suggests that overexpression of p53 could be used as an independent prognostic factor for the patients with lung cancer.
