Discussion on the Supplier Selection and Evaluation

Objective To select the quality suppliers whose products or services can continuously meet the quality management requirements of procurement organizations so as to ultimately achieve the mutual benefit and win-win situations. Methods According to the supplier-selecting principle of 5R(Right price, Right quality, Right quantity, Right place and Right time), the supplier management index system and SWOT(Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threats) analysis method were adopted. Results Through constant improvement of the supplier selection and evaluation system, a regular assessment implementation plan was established so as to strengthen the dynamic management, performance evaluation and management of suppliers. Conclusion Through strengthened selection and evaluation of suppliers, the procurement management can get improved from multiple perspectives and aspects.
