Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of defibrinogen in treatment of cerebral infarction. Methods One hundred and twenty-four patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into control group (group C, n=63) or study group (group S, n=61). Patients in both groups received citicoline sodium, xueshuantong, nimodipine and aspirin. Batroxobin injection were given on the 1st, 3rd and 5th day for patients in group S. Fibrinogen were measured before and after treatment. The efficacy was evaluate by using neurological functional deficits scales score for all patients. Results The level of fibrinogen decreased after treatment in group S. There were a significantly greater proportion of favorable function outcomes in group S than in group C (83.7% vs 67.21%, P0.01). Conclusion Defibrinogen was safe and effective in treatment of acute cerebral infarction.
