Abstract

An EGR system is designed and machined for reducing NO_x emission of vehicle turbocharged swirl-chamber diesel engine. The EGR mechanical part is optimized using AVL BOOST software.Experiments are carried out on the engine. The results show that NO_x emission is reduced obviously and the specific fuel consumption increases slightly at reasonable EGR ratios. It proves the EGR system design and operation is available.
