Abstract
Objective To understand the disinfection efficacy of bromochlorohydantoin and trichlorois ocyanuric acid effervescent tablets. Method Suspension quantitative germicide test was applied to observe the disinfection efficacy. Results To reach the disinfection effect of killing candida albicans within 10 minutes, the required effective bromine concentration in bromochlorohydantoin effervescent tablet solution was 52mg/l,while the required chlorine concentration was 1000mg/l for trichlorois ocyanuric solution. For killing Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli within 10 minutes, the effective bromine needed in bromochlorohydantoin effervescent tablet solution was 52 mg/l,and 400mg/l chloride for trichlorois ocyanuric solution.Since the bromochlorohydantoin contained effective bromine of 520mg/l,the pH value was 5.06,with slight odor;while for the trichlorois ocyanuric solution that contained effective chlorine of 1000mg/l,the pH value was 8.06, with heavy odor. Both disinfectants in an incubator of 54℃ for 14 days, the average decreasing rate of effective contents was less than 10%. Conclusion Having a low effective content, acidic pH value, good germicide effect and stability, and without contamination to(environment),the general effect of bromochlorohydantoin effervescent tablet has advantages over that of the trichlorois ocyanuric acid effervescent tablet.
