Abstract

Objective To observe the disinfection property and toxicity of a stable chlorine disinfectant in order to provide safety data for its application. Methods Suspension quantitative germicidal test and animal test were used to evaluate the disinfection property and toxicity of the stable chlorine disinfectant. Results The stable chlorine disinfectant containing available chlorine 1000 mg/L with a contact time of 5 minutes and 10 minutes reached an average extermination logarithm value 5 for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus in suspension respectively. The mouse acute oral LD50 of the disinfectant was 5000 mg/kg·bw.Both the skin irritating and sensitization indexes to the animal intact skin were zero. Conclusions The stable chlorine disinfectant has strong disinfection property in killing vegetative forms of bacteria, and has no irritating and sensitizing effects on skin.It belongs to the substance of practically non-toxic class.
