Indoor Air Disinfection by Using a Stable Chlorine Disinfectant

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the indoor air disinfection effect of a stable chlorine disinfectant. Methods By using sodium hyposulfite as the neutralization compound, the quantitative disinfection experiments, simulation scene disinfection and the scene disinfection were carried out and a comparison with other disinfectants was made to evaluate the efficiency of the stable chlorine disinfectant. Results When the stable chlorine disinfectant was used in the conditions of an effective chlorine content of more than 1 158 mg/L, a dosage of 20 ml/m3 and a disinfection duration of 30 min, the killing rate of natural bacterium in the air was 90.62%. The stable chlorine disinfectant had a similar capability to sodium hypochlorite and trichloroisocyanuric acid in air disinfection, but it did not produce the obvious odor in the disinfected air. Conclusion The stable chlorine disinfectant tested in the present study is applicable to air disinfection.
