Abstract
In Ge Zhu Ben Qie Yun,a fragment scroll discovered in Dunhuang,there are altogether nine cases of fanqie quoted from SHUOWEN.Through an internal analysis and an external comparison,it can be found that fanqie in SHUOWEN is composed of two types: Shu and Zuo.It can be concluded that its publishing time must be earlier than the Liu Song dynasty and after Zi Lin be published.
