Therapeutic Effect of Musculature Acupuncture for Limb Spasticity in Post-stroke Hemiplegia Patients:An Observation of 60 Cases

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of musculature acupuncture for limb spasticity in poststroke hemiplegia patients.Methods A block random control trial was carried out in 60 spasticity patients with post-stroke hemiplegia.The patients were randomized into two groups.The treatment group was given musculature acupuncture,and the control group was given traditional acupuncture for 3 weeks.The modified Ashworth spasm scale was used for therapeutic effect evaluation.Therapeutic effect on elbows of the upper limbs and knees of lower limbs were classified into four degrees:markedly effective,effective,improved and ineffective.Results The total effective rate was 80.00% in the treatment group and 56.67% in the control group,and the difference was significant(P 0.05),indicating that the effect was better in the treatment group.Conclusion Musculature acupuncture exerts certain effect for limb spasticity in post-stroke hemiplegia patients.
