Abstract

Objective To observe the level changes of serum high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and S-100β protein in patients with acute cerebral infarction(ACI) dynamically and to find the correlation between the level changes of hs-CRP or S-100β protein and patient's condition, therapeutic effect and prognosis. Methods 76 patients with ACI were divided into mild group(31 cases),moderate group(24 cases) and severe group(21 cases),and other 33 healthy people were chose as the control group. The patients with ACI were treated with conventional treatment, whose serum hs-CRP and S-100β protein were measured in 3rd,7th and 14th day before and after treatment. At the same time, evaluate the patient's nerve function by adopting scores of modified Edinburgh-Scandinavia stroke scale(MESSS).The serum hs-CRP and S-100β protein of control group were measured at the same way. Results The levels of hs-CRP and S-100β protein in patients with ACI were all higher than those of the control group, the moderate group and severe group were higher than the mild group, and the severe group were higher than the moderate group, the differences were statistically significant(P0.01).After treatment, the serum hs-CRP and S-100β protein level of patients dropped gradually as the improvement of nerve function. They had positive correlation. Conclusion The serum levels of hs-CRP and S-100β protein are obviously elevated in patients with ACI,which had positive correlation with the severity.Observing the level changes of serum hs-CRP and S-100β protein in patients with ACI dynamically conduce to monitor state of an illness, observe the effect and estimate prognosis.
