Evaluation on the Sustainable Development Capacity in Gansu Province

Gansu province is characterized by severe ecological environment,weak infrastructure and adverse natural conditions.In recent years,with economy development and population increase,the contradiction which the water,the land and the minerals are insufficient becomes more and more severe.The resources restraint is more and more serious and implementing the economic,social and resource environment sustainable development of Gansu province is more and more urgent.In this paper,the surrounding provinces of Gansu province and several developed provinces are chosen as the references.With the point of regional sustainable development,the sustainable development index system is set up,and the model of principal components is applied to evaluate the sustainable development capacity issues and differences between Gansu and other provinces.Finally the strategies of the sustainable development are put forward.
