Treatment of Hypertension with TCM

The hypertension belongs to the categories of ″dizziness″ in traditio nal Chinese medicine. The pathogenesis of dizziness is divided into types of hyp eractivity of liver yang,deficiency of kidney essences,insufficiency of both qi and blood,phlegm and dampness accumulation inside and blood stasis and the obstr uction of collaterals by later doctors. According to the pathogenic factors and pathogenesis,5 therapeutic methods are summarized. They are removing dampness by extinguishing wind,removing dampness by nourishing kidney and warmth smoothing, tonifying spleen to eliminate phlegm,promoting blood circulation and removing th e blood stasis,and nourishing both qi and blood etc.
