Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effects of TRAIL protein in the growth and apoptosis of ovarian carcinoma COC1/DDP and COC1 cell lines. Methods: The growth inhibitions of COC1/DDP and COC1 cell lines which were treated by TRAIL alone.and TRAIL combined with DDP were determinated by MTT assay. The apoptosis indexes and the cell cycle distribution induced by TRAIL were tested by flow cytometry(FCM).Results: ①Soluble TRAIL protein had the inhibiting effect to the growth of COC1/DDP and COC1 cells.DDP increased the growth-inhibiting ability of TRAIL to the cells.②The apoptotic indexes of COC1/DDP cells detected by FCM were 4.6%,16.7% and 23.6% in control group.TRAIL group and TRAIL plus DDP group, respectively. Conclusion: Soluble TRAIL can inhibit the growth of COC1/DDP and COC1 cells. The combination use of TRAIL and DDP increases the rate of inhibiting significantly.TRAIL can overcome the DDP-resistance in COC1/DDP cell line.
