Abstract
The catalytic activities of TiSiW 12 O 40 /TiO 2 in synthesizing ethyl cinnamate are reported. It has been demonstrated that TiSiW 12 O 40 /TiO 2 is an excellent catalyst. Various factors concerned in this reaction have been investigated. The optimum conditions have been found, that is, the molar ratio of alcohol to acid is 9:1, the mass ratio of the catalyst used to the reactants 2.0 %, the reaction temperature 75 85 ℃, and the reaction time 3.0 h. Under this condition, the yield of ethyl cinnamate is 58.7 %.
